1 pinch saffron threads, crushed with a mortar & pestle
4 cloves garlic, grated or ground
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
Infuse the Saffron:
In a small bowl, add the crushed saffron threads to 2 tablespoons of warm water. Let it steep for about 10 minutes until the water turns a deep yellow color.
Prepare the Saffron Butter:
In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, infused saffron water, and minced garlic.
Prep the Bread:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the loaf of bread in half horizontally, then cut each half into 3 slices without cutting all the way through, so the loaf stays intact.
Butter the Bread:
Spread the saffron butter mixture generously between the slices and over the top of the bread halves. Make sure each slice is well coated with the mixture.
Bake:
Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-10 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and golden brown on the edges.
Garnish:
Remove the bread from the oven and sprinkle the freshly chopped parsley evenly over the top.
Serve:
Serve the saffron butter garlic bread warm, as a delicious side to your favorite meal or as an appetizing starter. Enjoy!
