Saffron Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 1 pinch saffron threads
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Infuse the Saffron:
    • In a small bowl, add the saffron threads to the hot water. Let it steep for about 10 minutes until the water turns a deep yellow color.
  2. Prepare the Lemonade Base:
    • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the Saffron Infusion:
    • Pour the saffron-infused water into the lemon-sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Add Cold Water:
    • Add the cold water to the pitcher and stir until everything is well combined.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • Add ice cubes to the lemonade to chill it. If desired, garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves for an extra refreshing touch.
  6. Enjoy:
    • Serve the saffron lemonade in glasses over ice, and enjoy the refreshing and aromatic flavors!
